First of all, we would like to introduce an Ipoh local restaurant for you - The Amazing Roasted Duck Restaurant, Sun Yeong Wai.
About Sun Yeong Wai

Sun Yeong Wai is one of the Ipoh Culinary Specialist which expert in roasted and barbeque dishes. It's established in Ipoh for more than 20 years. Sun Yeong Wai is a family business that pass down from father (the founder) to son (Danny, the current owner).

In 1976, Danny's father founded the roasted duck business with a self-designed oven in front of his restaurant in Jalan Yau Tet Shin.

Between 1980 and 1990, Danny's father traveled to Hong Kong annually to improve his culinary skills in the preparation of roast ducks, while seek to further develop his business.

The business officially passed to Danny in 1990's. Danny started with a roast duck rice stall in Gunung Rapat. Within 5 years, he successfully opened the First Sun Yeong Wai Roasted Duck Restaurant.

Nowadays Sun Yeong Wai becomes a famous brand closely synonymous with roasted ducks.

Sun Yeong Wai offers wide range of dishes to its customers. Its menu comprised of several categories:

Dishes

Now, we would like to introduce some signature dishes for you.

Let's start with Smoked Duck. Smoked Duck is a new addition of dishes which strongly recommended by the Chef.



Tender and juicy duck meat with a light smoky scent.


Next, Pei Pa Duck. It's reheated with hot burning oil every time, before it's served to customers. It comes with a crispy, aromatic yet even tender on the meat dish.  Pei Pa Duck should not be missed while you visit to Sun Yeong Wai !

Follow by Char Siu & Roasted Pork

Sun Yeong Wai Char Siu is cooked by using pork belly, which is essential for good balance of lean meat and fat. It is marinated with secret recipe that includes maltose.


Sun Yeong Wai Roasted Pork is roasted through traditional charcoal furnace with high temperature. It's extremely crispy on the skin while not losing the tenderness and juiciness of the pork belly.

Sun Yeong Wai Char Siu and Roasted Pork have both nice shiny glaze outlook and delicious taste. They are branded an all-time favourite by customers!

Their Signature Roasted Duck marinated with various herbs and slow roasted with to perfection to keep it crispier, tender and juicier.

The Pei Pa duck were roasted in a butterfly position to retain the juices of the fowl and to attain the gratifying crisp texture. To assure their Pei Pa Duck is crispy, aromatic yet tender on every serving, they will reheat with hot burning oil. While for their Roast Pork, the pork was roasted using traditional charcoal furnace with high temperature that make it extremely crispy on skin and remain the tenderness and juiciness of pork belly. The Roast pork accompanying with chilli sauce did its job while not being overpowering or underwhelming.  Sun Yeong Wai Barbeque Pork have more advantage compare to some competitors, the Char Siu is more smoky, sweet and caramelized taste and a nice shiny glaze outlook because they are using pork belly marinated with their secret recipe.
